We not Me

Varsity:
What an incredible weekend for Lady Tigers volleyball! They played in a tournament hosted by Briarcrest and played their hearts out. In pool play, they opposed:
West Collierville (Loss: 25-18, 20-25, 12-15); Briarcrest (Win: 25-16, 25-18); Tipton Rosemark (Win: 25-15, 25-12)
This made them 2nd in their pool, advancing them to bracket play with a first round bye. In the quarterfinals, your Lady Tigers played North Point, and shut them down 25-22 and 25-15, advancing them to the semifinals.
In the semifinals, they were matched up against Elmore Park, and they battled hard to the last point. In the end, Elmore Park walked away with the win (25-16, 23-25, 13-15) and advanced to the championship, but the Lady Tigers left it all out on the court, and that’s something everyone can be proud of.
A big shout-out needs to be given to Kayleigh Ryan, Graci Harris, and Karlin Lott for their hustle, heart, and unending dedication to their team and to the game. Hannah McGee, Abby Keeton, and Zoe Torian were absolute beasts up at the net, and walked away with some pretty incredible kills and blocks. McKenzie Walker had quite a few successful setter dumps; she’s sneaky so the other team never knows what to expect. Her serving was also key this weekend. Finally, Camryn Harrison and Sophie Rush were incredible on the floor picking up balls nobody thought they could touch, and hustling always. Congratulations, Lady Tigers volleyball! The Lady Tigers host the Houston Mustangs on Monday at 4:15, 5:15, and 6:15 PM (JV-Blue, Varsity, then JV-Gold-7th grade team). Go Tigers.

JV-Blue:
The JV-Blue (7th/8th grade) team played in the Briarcrest tournament this weekend, as well. The Lady Tigers faced Collierville Middle to begin pool play and won in three sets to avenge a district loss last week. They also beat West Memphis (AR) in two sets during pool play.
The Lady Tigers fell to Briarcrest in a hard fought match in two sets to end pool play and again in the first round of bracket play, ending the day with a 2-2 record.
The Lady Tigers were led by strong net play by Zoe McDaniel, Rachel Ross, Hanna Garry, and Savannah Miller. Ryan Wallgren also had a strong day both offensively and defensively. Ashley Martindale’s and Tatum Bittick’s strong serving gave the Lady Tigers an added boost. Defensive specialists Ashlyn Mitchell, Ashley Price and Whitney Donoho also played strong supporting roles in this weekend’s play. The Lady Tigers lost one of their setters Myla Scott to an ankle injury in the first game and had to regroup after that, but the team responded well to the challenge. The JV-Blue Lady Tigers play Houston and Collierville on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Come on out and support your Lady Tiger Volleyball Teams!
